Mass, weight and why nobody minds
Strictly, a kilogram measures mass and a pound as commonly used measures weight, which is a force. Mass is how much matter something contains and does not change; weight is how hard gravity pulls on it and would be different on the Moon. Physicists keep them apart carefully.
Everywhere else the distinction is ignored, and reasonably so. Gravity varies by less than half a percent across the surface of the Earth, so a conversion from kilograms to pounds gives the same answer in Delhi as in London. Scales are calibrated for that and the error never surfaces.
The definitions themselves are exact. The pound has been fixed at 0.45359237 kilograms since 1959, and the kilogram itself was redefined in 2019 in terms of the Planck constant rather than a metal cylinder in a vault outside Paris. Rounding a kilograms figure sensibly
